Project Description

Joseph Vernon DIRECTOR

Hello, my name is Joe Vernon, Club Member #146682 and I have been an official member of BMW CCA since 1997.  Although I’ve been a club member for some time, my experience with the Hoosier Chapter began around 2014.

I saw my first BMW in San Francisco, California during the summer of 1977 on my way to Okinawa Japan.  It was a dark blue 635 CSi and I had no idea what it was or who it was built by.  As time pasted and I returned to the U.S. I began to see more of the BMW Roundel on different body styles taking me back to the first breathtaking 635 I had seen years before.  Finally, in 1984 I purchased my first BMW – a 1975 2002.  Since then, I’ve owned a 1982 528e (E28); 1989 735i (E32); 2004 Z4 Roadster (E85) and currently drive a 2006 330Ci / Dinan 3 (E46) and a 2013 x35 X1 (E84).

For me, this Club is about the culture and comradery that brings together such an eclectic group of people who possess a passion for the BMW brand and share it through the many outlets the Club and Chapter have to offer to individual members and families alike.  Everything from national events, local socials, track events, driving schools, car shows, and scenic cruises, to giving back to the community and teen drivers as a Tire Rack Street Survival volunteer.

The best part is that ownership of a BMW is not required . . . just an appreciation of the brand, a desire to meet new people, and have fun!  If you’ve read this far, take the next step . . . pick an event from the Hoosier Chapter calendar and come join us!
